Tonya Stumpo, a registered nurse from Niagara Falls, is one of three recipients of Elderwood's 2014 Service Excellence Award. The award is presented annually to staff who promote Elderwood's mission to provide quality care.

Stumpo began her career with Elderwood in 1998 as a staff nurse. She was appointed director of nursing services at Elderwood at Wheatfield in 2005.

"Knowledgeable, focused and compassionate are just a few of the leadership superlatives that immediately come to mind when I think of Tonya," said Administrator Ron Zito. "Her attention to detail, follow-through and drive for quality have earned her wide respect."

Lisa Scott, of Lockport, was another award recipient. Scott joined Elderwood 13 years ago. She became food service director at Elderwood Residences at Wheatfield in 2008. She was chosen for her caring attitude, talent and superlative efforts in supporting the community's special events with her culinary skills.
