Lions and Lioness clubs to hold veterans with ceremony

Brownie Scouts from Troop 7008 present flags and lapel pins to veterans at last year's ceremony.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Town of Niagara Lions and Lioness clubs will honor the nation's veterans with a ceremony at Veterans Heights Park in the Town of Niagara, located at the intersection of Lawson and Bellreng drives.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. and will include a color guard and flag ceremony by Boy Scout Troop 841 from St. John de LaSalle Church.

There will also be wreath presentations by the Lions and Lioness clubs and the Fredrick Cadille Post of the American Legion. Pastor Ron Maines of the Forestview Church of God will offer opening and closing prayers. Guest speakers will be U.S. Air Force and Vietnam veteran Dale DeBacco and a representative from the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.

All veterans attending the ceremony will be given an American flag and lapel pin. Following the ceremony, the Lioness club will serve warm beverages and pastries at the St. Vincent de Paul Parish Center, 2748 Military Road.
