Assemblyman John Ceretto has helped to secure $189,204 in grants for Niagara County for emergency service dispatch operations. The Public Safety Answering Points Operations Grant is a non-competitive grant and delivers the funding through an algorithm that takes into account demographics and operational scope, among other aspects.

"As a state and as a community, we should always be striving to reduce 9-1-1 emergency reaction times," Ceretto said. "New York has made this a priority, and we will continue to see better technology and equipment come into play. We're going to be on the cutting-edge of emergency services. When we need our first responders most, they're going to be there quicker than ever."
