Food, fun and stylish décor will fill the Niagara Falls Conference and Event Center on Old Falls Street when the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation presents "On the Table: Tastings, Tablescapes and Toasts," from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Area designers will compete for top honors with their tabletop designs. Attendees will purchase raffle tickets to vote for their favorites with the holder of the winning ticket at each table being awarded the entire tablescape.

The event also will showcase complete makeovers for five patients from Memorial's bariatric surgery program - patients whose lives have been transformed by the comprehensive weight-loss program.

Fashion advisers will share their expertise with makeover models and the audience. Clothes will be provided by DKNY and the Clothes Mentor, accessories by Chico's, hair by Pizzazz, and makeup by Mary Kay Cosmetics. Image Consultant Karen Nordaby will demonstrate how individualized color palates highlight the best features of each model.

" 'On the Table' - our third annual event 'not for women only' - offers international hors d'oeuvre stations and ballroom dance exhibitions, as well as home décor and fashion. There is truly something for everyone," said event co-chair Teresa Ruffolo.

"And of course, there will be boutique vendors, door prizes and raffle prizes to add to the evening's fun," co-chair Judy Villani added.

Tickets are $20 presale and $25 at the door. Tickets may be purchased online at www.nfmmc.org/classes-events or by calling the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation at 716-278-4604. A cash bar including internationally themed specialty drinks also will be available.

Proceeds from the event will support "David's Path," a 10-bed hospice unit at Memorial's Schoellkopf Health Center provided in partnership with Niagara Hospice.
