The two children and the school bus driver on their way to Errick Road School on Wednesday morning were not injured when the bus was involved in an accident on Niagara Falls Boulevard, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Department.

The drivers of the other two vehicles in the accident were taken to Erie County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

According to sheriff's reports, at 8:26 a.m., Niagara County Dispatch received several 911 calls reporting the accident.

The investigation revealed that a westbound facing school bus with its red hazard lights activated was stopped on Niagara Falls Boulevard at Old Niagara Falls Boulevard. A vehicle that was facing east on Niagara Falls Boulevard was also stopped waiting for the school bus. A third vehicle, which was eastbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard, did not see the stopped vehicle and struck the vehicle from behind, pushing it into the school bus.

The driver of the third vehicle, 19-year-old Mitchell Kinnaman, was cited for speed not reasonable and prudent.

Deputies Joe Tortorella, Lisa Oliveri and Scott Milleville responded, along with the Bergholz Volunteer Fire Co. and the Tri-Community Ambulance Co.
