President Obama has designated the month of September as National Preparedness Month. As part of this recognition, the Erie County Local Emergency Planning Committee is hosting a public information forum from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the Erie County Department of Emergency Services Training and Operations Center, 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga.

The forum will include educational sessions provided by agencies and organizations that focus on emergency awareness and preparedness. It will be held in the center's auditorium. Light refreshments will be served.

The Erie County Local Emergency Planning Committee is a voluntary group of approximately 150 people representing more than 70 companies and organizations in Erie County.
