Lewiston Police Blotter for Aug. 30, 2014

The following activity occurred Monday, Aug. 18 to Sunday, Aug. 24, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. LPD logged a total of 122 response calls during this period.

Monday, Aug. 18

•700 block of Center Street, suspicious males/juveniles at a drug store. Subjects advised of curfew and parents contacted.

•Portage Road, suspicious activity. Male, 18, listed as driver and male, 19, as a passenger in a vehicle. Patrol reported that drug paraphernalia was turned over and subjects were sent on their way.

•100 block of Jackson Street, Youngstown, assist agency. LPD on location with Niagara County Sheriff's Office for two suspicious males. Patrols located numerous males and a damaged vehicle in the area.

•Niagara University campus, unwanted party. Call handled by patrol.

•1000 block of Ridge Road, trespassing/property-damage complaint. Patrol spoke with a male, 46, concerning some trees that were cut down. Investigation to follow.

•1000 block of Escarpment Drive, follow-up. Patrol spoke with a female, elderly, concerning property damage.

•Center and Fifth streets, vehicle/traffic stop. Male, 23, arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation, third. Jail/bail of $250 assigned; vehicle released to a valid operator. Report filed.

Tuesday, Aug. 19

•800 block of Foxwood Drive, neighbor problem. Call handled by patrol.

•900 block of Escarpment Drive, alarm response. Homeowner on scene; all secure. Report filed.

•Cherry Lane/Morgan Drive, shooter complaint. Patrol checked area with negative results.

•700 block of Chicora Road, larceny complaint. Statement taken from a male, 68, listed as victim/complainant. Suspect unknown. Report filed.

•2100 block of Watts Drive, criminal mischief. Statement taken from a male, 67, listed as victim/complainant. Suspect unknown; report filed.

•Location not listed, follow-up-arrest. Patrol reported the arrests of a female, 23, and a male, 23, both for grand larceny, fourth, stemming from an earlier incident on Garlow Road. Appearance tickets issued to both for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

•Locations on Tuscarora Street; South Eighth and Seneca streets; and on Water Street, alcohol beverage control/open container violations-arrests. Patrol reported the following arrests: a female, 45; a male, 57; a male, 49; a male, 52; a female, 28; a female, 43; a male, 42; and a male, no age listed. Appearance tickets issued to all for Lewiston Town Court. Reports filed.

•South Eighth and Seneca streets, open container complaint. Subject advised of ordinance.

•Locations on North Fifth and Oneida streets; on Lower River Road; and Route 104, westbound, separate reckless driver complaints. All vehicles located and drivers advised.

•Artpark, upper lot, agency assist. LPD on location with NCSO for a public lewdness arrest. No further information.

•Fourth and Center streets, agency assist. LPD on location with NCSO auxiliary police and Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co responders for a male, intoxicated, who attempted to enter a patrol vehicle and fell, resulting in a facial injury.

•Village locations, Artpark patrols. LPD reported 61 response calls/incidents. LPD assisted by NCSO, U.S. Border Patrol, State Police and NCSO auxiliary police.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

•5500 block of Walmore Road, criminal mischief. Statement taken from a male, 62; two vehicles listed in complaint. Both secured; investigation to continue.

•Saunders Settlement and Walmore roads, reckless driver. Caller reported nine motorcycles travelling at a high rate of speed.

•LPD office, harassment complaint. Statement taken from a male, 58, regarding earlier incident at a bar/restaurant on the 100 block of South Water Street. Male suspect listed; report filed.

•Lewiston Town Court, arrests. Patrol reported the arrests of four males, ages 22, 22, 18 and 47, stemming from an earlier property-damage accident on the 2000 block of Saunders Settlement Road. Subjects turned themselves in. No further details.

•300 block of North Ninth Street, check welfare. Caller reported an individual yelling; subject heard from the street. Patrol reportedly made contact with resident involved; all OK.

•5100 block of Walmore Road, assist EMS. Patrol on location due to a hostile family. Patrol remained on standby until EMS cleared.

•1500 block of Upper Mountain Road, check welfare. Patrol reported a female, intoxicated, lying in the yard. Subject taken to residence next door.

Thursday, Aug. 21

•800 block of Center Street, lost/stolen wallet. Male, 17, listed as victim; suspect unknown.

•1100 block of Escarpment Drive, suspicious person. Caller reported an individual peeked in a window. LPD with NCSO checked area with negative results.

•2800 block of Ridge Road, disturbing the peace. Male 41, reported truck noise from a business.

Lewiston Queenston Bridge, outbound checkpoints, conducted by LPD, U.S. Customs, U.S. Border Patrol and State Police. Patrols reported one firearms arrest made, one immigration law violation and multiple uniform traffic law violations; UTTs issued.

•5600 block of Bridgeman Rod, suspicious person. One male reported throwing rocks in the area. Patrol searched area with negative results.

•Townline Road, separate reports of a reckless driver and an ATV problem. Both GOA.

Friday, Aug. 22

•LPD office, lost wallet. Female elderly listed on call. Incident occurred earlier at Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center. Report filed.

•Indian Hill Road, recovered property. Patrol spoke with a male, 46, who reported finding a wallet in roadway. Male, 35 also listed on call. Report filed.

•4500 block of Washington Drive, officer requested. Patrol spoke with a female, 21, who reported a problem with her boyfriend/roommate. Patrol termed it a civil matter; male reported moving out.

•Saunders Settlement Road, westbound, reckless driver. Vehicle located by State Police; call handled.

•5500 block of Walmore Road, property dispute. Female listed as complainant and male, 35, listed on call. Investigation to continue.

•600 block of Mountain View Drive, suspicious person. Male advised regarding a town soliciting permit.

•2900 block of Upper Mountain Road, hit-run accident. Statements taken from driver of vehicle No. 1. Vehicle No. 2 located at a Niagara Falls address. Report filed.

•1500 block of Upper Mountain Road, check welfare. Patrol reported individuals engaged in an argument on the side of the road. Negative results on any warrants; situation handled.

•1900 block of Mount Hope Road, domestic. Two females, ages 48 and 56, listed as persons involved. Domestic incident report filed; patrol's report taken.

Saturday, Aug. 23

•5300 block of Lewiston Road, Mount St. Mary's Hospital, report of fire. Small fire in a kitchen; Upper Mountain and Lewiston No. 1 volunteer fire companies responded.

•Location not specified, warrant execution. Male, 34, arrested on warrant for petit larceny. Arraignment at Porter Town Court and $2,500 cash bail assigned.

•Locations on Center and Eighth streets and in a parking lot on the 900 block of Center Street, separate two-vehicle property-damage accidents. Statements taken from drivers; minor damage, no injuries. Report filed.

•Location not specified, officer standby. Patrol reported a vendor and a customer yelling at each other. Male, 55, from Rochester listed on call.

•Fourth and Center streets, arrest. Male, 59, arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. Appearance ticket issued for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

Sunday, Aug. 24

•Garlow Road, shooter complaint. Resolved by patrol; all OK.

•2500 block of Ridge Road, neighbor problem. Statement taken from a male, 41, regarding dirt in roadway from nearby clay mines operation. Report filed.

•100 block of South Water Street, two-vehicle accident. Statement taken from one driver; report filed.

•North Third Street, suspicious person. Male, 27, listed; call handled by patrol.
