The Niagara Regional Theatre Guild has announced its 92nd season of community theater on the Niagara Frontier.
NRTG will present five shows at the Ellicott Creek Playhouse for the 2014-15 season.
•"Guys And Dolls," directed by Kim Ehrenburg of Buffalo, choreographed by Dawn Marcolini Newton of Grand Island and musical direction by Christina Custode of Niagara Falls. The show opens Friday, Sept. 26, and runs through Oct. 12.
•"Secret Garden," a musical directed and choreographed by Marcolini Newton with musical direction by Sandy Ackerman. The show opens Friday, Nov. 7, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 23. The music by Lucy Simon and lyrics by Marsha Norman are based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
•The third show, "The Sunshine Boys," is directed by M. Joseph Fratello of Tonawanda. It is a classic comedy written by Neil Simon that tries to answer the age-old question "Can you go back again?" When classic vaudeville comedy duo Lewis and Clark attempt to put 40 years of crusty bickering aside for a show stopping comedic reunion, sparks will fly and the audience will be in for a treat. "The Sunshine Boys" will open Friday, Feb. 6, and runs through Feb. 22, 2015.
•The fourth show, "My Favorite Year," is directed by Dan Zerpa of Buffalo, choreography by Marcolini Newton with musical direction by Lynda Williams of Ransomville. Based on the book by Joseph Dougherty, the music is by Stephen Flaherty and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. For NRTG, this is a premiere production (based on the film of the same name) and chosen as a hidden gem by the guild's devoted actors and volunteers. "My Favorite Year" opens Friday, March 13, and runs through Sunday, March 29, 2015.
•The last show is "Noises Off" directed by Fran Newton of Grand Island and is a comedy written by Michael Frayn. "Noises Off" opens Friday, May 1, and runs through Sunday, May 17, 2015.
Season tickets are available right now through the last performance of "Guys and Dolls."
Since moving to the new theater at 550 Ellicott Creek Road, NRTG has seen record attendance, including sell-out-performances. All shows will be presented at NRTG's home at the Ellicott Creek Playhouse (on the St. Edmund Campus).
