Lewiston Senior Center August events and activities

The Town of Lewiston Senior, 4361 Lower River Road, announces its August calendar of events and programs.

The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A hot meal is served 11:45 a.m. Reservations must be made one day in advance. Call the center at 716-745-2071.

•Tuesday, Aug. 5 - Officer's meeting, 10:30 a.m.; Niagara County Office for the Aging attorney visit, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call the center to make an appointment.

•Thursday, Aug. 7 - The annual health fair will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured will be both indoor and outdoor activities, held rain or shine.

 •Tuesday, Aug. 12 - Senior Club lunch, 11:45 a.m. Lunch catered by The Silo Restaurant; entertainment by Kim Kargatis.

•Wednesday, Aug. 20 - Nutrition ice cream social.

•Thursday, Aug. 21 - Funtastics travel visit; annual picnic at 1 p.m.

Daily activities: Monday - mahjongg, 9 a.m.; line dancing, 10 a.m.

Tuesday - resistance band exercise, 10 a.m.; Lewiston Senior Club, 11 a.m.

Wednesday - Larks rehearsal, 9:30 a.m.; bingo, 1 p.m.

Thursday - tai chi, 9:30 a.m.; woodcarvers, 9:30 a.m.; resistance band exercise, 10:30 a.m.; euchre, 12:30 p.m.

Friday - quilting/crafts, 9:30 a.m.; line dancing, 10 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.

The center will hold a walk-in flu-shot clinic Monday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Details to come.

The center's annual fall dance will take place Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $7 and includes lunch and snacks. Call the center for reservations, 716-745-2071.
