Every year since 2005, the Erie County Fair has searched for an individual who lives and breathes the Erie County Fair. The person organizers are looking for is not only passionate and enthusiastic about the fair, but actively promotes and shares that love with family and friends.

If you or someone you know fits this criteria, then send in your nomination for "Ultimate Fairgoer 2014." The winner of the title will receive two VIP passes to the fair (good for each day), ride passes, a gift shop gift certificate and the opportunity to ride in the parade.

Nominations must be submitted by July 31 by emailing [email protected] or via mail at Erie County Fair "Ultimate Fairgoer," 5600 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg, NY 14075. Each entry should include the name and contact information of the nominee as well as a short story as to why he/she, above everyone else, deserves the title. Include any photos, references, clippings or other pieces that may enhance your nomination and make it stand out from the rest.

Management and staff of the Erie County Agricultural Society and/or the Erie County Fair are not eligible.

The "Ultimate Fairgoer" will be announced Monday, Aug. 4.

"Ultimate Fairgoers" of past years have worked together to create T-shirts, calendars and other fair memorabilia. Through the years, the "Ultimate Fairgoers" have remained close friends and often meet in Slade Park to share stories and memories of past fairs.

The first "Ultimate Fairgoer," in 2005, Barb Barder, serves as the "official fair blogger," while last year's "Ultimate Fairgoer," Marty Brownsey, travels to various festivals and events spreading the word about the Erie County Fair.
