Steven Sabo was re-elected as president of the Niagara-Wheatfield Board of Education last week at the board's annual reorganization meeting.

The 2014-15 school year will be Sabo's fourth year as board president.

"It is an honor to be re-elected unanimously as board president again. I have nothing but praise for my fellow board members, and I look forward to continue leading the board through yet another difficult fiscal year," Sabo said. "I have great hope that this board will be able to continue N-W on the path to fiscal stability while maintaining the great educational program for which N-W has come to be known."

Board member Christopher Peters, who was re-elected this spring to his second term on the board, was elected vice president. He replaces Rich Halleen as vice president. Halleen failed to win re-election to the board.

The oath of office was administered to newly elected board members, who also include newcomers Gina Terbot and Darren Sneed.

Board meetings will continue on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, except there will be no second meeting in July and a decision on a second meeting in August has yet to be made. The next N-W meeting will be on Aug. 6.
