An investment of more than $175,000 will enhance the wellness centers at the Ken-Ton, Southtowns, William-Emslie and Delaware YMCA branches. Included in the upgrade are six new adaptive motion trainers, 13 upright bikes, 12 recumbent bikes and 31 cycling bikes.

The Southtowns Y also will receive the PREVA Networked Fitness system by PRECOR, which offers members an interactive personalized workout experience while using the upright, recumbent and adaptive motion trainers. The system operates similarly to a tablet and combines fitness with TV, media and the Internet so exercisers can stay connected while tracking their progress. The system also has a mobile component to allow users to set and track their weekly goals.

The installation of the equipment is slated for all branches for early July. To learn more about the YMCA in your area, visit www.ymcabn.org.
