Spots are available for a "Kid's Creativity Camp" to be held Aug. 4-8 and Aug. 11-15 at Buffalo State College. The Beyonder Academy, affiliated with the International Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College, is an organization focused on helping the youth develop essential life skills such as creative thinking and problem-solving.

The camp will be delivered for the third time at Buffalo State College. Both camp weeks are open to middle and high school students. The camp costs $300 per week, per camper, including:

•Training materials

•Welcome and graduation ceremonies

•Staffing for 8:1 camper-leader ratio

Organizers say The Beyonder Academy youth summer camp has had a significant impact on participants and their parents stretching beyond the one-week camp. When camp participants were asked all the ways the Beyonder youth program made a difference in their lives, they said, "improved leadership qualities and abilities," "recognizing and fixing problems," and "more confident about saying what I want to."

A parent of a Beyonder said, "I witnessed and learned things about my child that I had never seen before. In my mind, it is truly remarkable that a week-long experience could draw so much out of him."

The Beyonder Academy programs provide learning experiences and activities designed to develop essential life skills such as creative thinking and problem-solving. The curriculum is based on more than 50 years of research in the study of creativity and creative problem-solving at the International Center for Studies in Creativity at Buffalo State College (founded in 1967 and home to the world's first graduate program in the study of creativity). The Beyonder youth program started in 2012 with its first camp; 2014 will be the third camp held in Buffalo.

In addition, the Beyonder team has delivered various programs in China, Europe, Canada, UAE, Chile and Pakistan.
