The Health Association of Niagara County Inc. will present seven awards at its annual meeting and luncheon at noon June 12 at the Niagara Falls Country Club, 505 Mountain View Drive, Lewiston. The nonprofit agency will also conduct elections for its board of directors.

Niagara County Head Start Inc. will receive the Outstanding Partner Award for outstanding partnership with HANCI's foster grandparent program. Also honored will be Glenda Reardon (awarded posthumously), who will receive the Chris Richbart Heart of HANCI Award for her commitment to the health and well-being of the Niagara Community. The Outstanding Sponsor Award will go to SynchroNet, for exceptional support of HANCI and the Greater Niagara Community. The Chairperson's Award for Distinguished Service will be presented to Robert Kazeangin Jr., a HANCI board member, for his dedication to the HANCI mission. A Special Recognition Award will be presented to Harold Brown and William Williamson for their dedication to HANCI's mission.

The emotional high point of the luncheon will be the presentation of the Karen Albond Courage in Caring Award, presented annually to an individual who perseveres in service to others despite a disability. Candace Butcher will receive the award this year.

Organizers said Butcher, who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, has gone above and beyond the call of duty while working for Niagara Cerebral Palsy for the past 12 years. She was nominated by the residential manager for Niagara Cerebral Palsy, Russ Polvino, who cited Candace's ability to provide the best care possible to the families she works with, despite her own challenges.

Tickets are $30 each. Reservations are being accepted at 716-285-8224, ext. 228, or [email protected]. Reservations are due by June 5.
