Celebrate the Sisters of Mercy with the second annual "Fun with the Nuns" event at the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Join Emcee Danny Neaverth Sr. Wednesday, May 21, from 6-9 p.m. for an evening of "Fun with the Nuns," which includes a "Raffle with a Twist."

The Sisters of Mercy is an international community of Roman Catholic women who dedicate their lives to God through vows of poverty, chastity, obedience and service. They live a life of prayer and service, responding to the needs of people facing poverty, illness and lack of education. They sponsor and serve in more than 200 organizations - such as schools and hospitals - that address those needs.

The Sisters of Mercy touch the lives of many people in the community through ministries that are dedicated to serving those who are sick, poor and uneducated, and to help people to overcome the obstacles that keep them from living full and dignified lives. The sisters' commitment is as evident today as it was in the past when they established schools and hospitals.

This event is open to the community and will raise funds for the ministries of the Sisters of Mercy, New York, Pennsylvania, Pacific West (NYPPAW) Community, and for assistance with care of their elderly and infirm sisters.

Tickets are $90 per person/$170 per couple, which includes: one hour open bar, dinner, "Raffle with a Twist," and a chance to have fun and converse with the sisters and their friends. Grand prize for the raffle is $2,000.
