Honored at Association of Leadership Programs conference

Leadership Niagara will be recognized nationally for "Excellence in Innovation" by the Association of Leadership Programs on Friday, April 4, at the Southeast Regional Conference in Atlanta.

The award will be presented to Leadership Niagara's executive director, Molly Anderson, who has been at the helm of the organization for the past five years. She was invited to present her program's innovation and best practices to leadership professionals who will be attending the conference.

"In recent years, Leadership Niagara has innovated and transformed a great organization. We are sharply focused on achieving more for our participants and our region," Anderson said. "It is an honor to be recognized among hundreds of our peer leadership organizations for all the hard work thus far."

ALP's mission is to provide professional educational activities and to engage, educate and train leaders. Through recognizing excellence, fostering innovation, sharing best practices, educational training and development, and building networks, ALP advances the effectiveness of community leadership programs and professionals.

Leadership Niagara is the longest-running community leadership program in New York. More than 1,200 leaders have graduated from the program since 1984. It is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2014.

Leadership Niagara rebranded in 2009 and saw a resurgence of talent participate in its graduate level leadership development program. Its youth program, LYNC, encompasses 12 local high schools.
