'A Taste of the Niagara Region' at Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue's annual 'Heart To Heart' fundraiser

Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue's second annual "Heart to Heart" fundraising event, "A Taste of The Niagara Region," will take place Saturday, Feb. 8, from noon to 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church social hall, 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston.

This family-friendly community event will feature more than 20 of the area's favorite restaurants, which will share samples of signature appetizers, main course items and desserts. Guests will vote on their favorite dish at the event and then name "The Best of The Taste of the Niagara Region."

There will be a basket raffle drawings (6-7 p.m.) with more than 100 items, plus major prize drawings from noon until 6 p.m. Attendees need not be present to win.

The fundraiser has free parking. The church is handicap-accessible.

Tickets are $20 per person. The event is a main fundraiser to help HON continue its work of rescuing animals in need and finding suitable homes for them.

For tickets, make checks payable to Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue and mail to Heart of Niagara Animal Rescue, PO Box 462, Lewiston, NY 14092. Include an email address and phone number for receipt confirmation. Tickets will be held at the door for each guest.

Heart of Niagara is a 501(c) 3, not-for-profit companion animal rescue organization based in Niagara County. Its mission is to protect the health and welfare of abandoned, unwanted and homeless animals. Volunteers have adopted out more than 100 animals to date.

HON operates solely on donations and the generosity and support of the public.
