Hop aboard 'Art Express' at Castellani Art Museum

Workshops set for January and February

Join in the family fun as you hop aboard the "Art Express" on Saturdays at 2 p.m. at the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University.

"Art Express" family workshops begin with storytelling in the galleries, followed by a tour of selected artworks, and finally a trip to the classroom for art projects. The $3 member/$2 non-member program fee includes instruction and all materials.

Jan. 11

  • Artwork: From the exhibition "Landscape-ism"
  • Story: "Winter Is" by Ann Dixon
  • Activity: Winter landscape collage

Jan. 18

  • Artwork: "Campbell Soup Can" by Andy Warhol
  • Story: "Uncle Andy's Cats" by James Warhola
  • Activity: Pop art designs

Jan. 25

  • Artwork: "Les Coteaux a Giverny" by Theodore Butler
  • Story: "Katie's Sunday Afternoon" by James Mayhew
  • Activity: Pointillism paintings

Feb. 1

  • Artwork: From the exhibition "Bethany Krull: Where are the Wild Things?"
  • Story: "The Hat" by Jan Brett
  • Activity: Animal sculptures

Feb. 8

  • Artwork: From the exhibition "Bethany Krull: Where are the Wild Things?"
  • Story: "Snow Dog, Go Dog" by Deborah Heiligman
  • Activity: Animal portraits (bring in pet photo)

Feb. 15

  • Artwork: From the exhibition "Landscape-ism"
  • Story: "Valentines Bears" by Eve Bunting
  • Activity: Watercolor resist landscapes

Feb. 22

  • Artwork: "Wasco" by Judy Pfaff
  • Story: "Uncle Andy's" by James Warhola
  • Activity: Expressive sculptures
