Castellani Art Museum holiday happenings

The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University announced the following holiday hours and happenings:

The CAM will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 29. The museum will be open over Thanksgiving weekend, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.

Thanksgiving weekend coincides with the beginning of the Castellani Art Museum's annual holiday museum shop sale. Everything is 20 percent off from Saturday, Nov. 30, through Friday, Dec. 20. The shop features art books, scarves, children's items, note cards, playing cards and more. A selection of Salvador Dali items are offered in conjunction with the museum's current exhibition, "Les Diners de Gala." Dali enthusiasts will enjoy the "Persistence of Memory" "melting clock" Christmas ornament.

CAM's seventh annual Holiday Bash will take place Friday, Dec. 13, from 5-8 p.m. This festive end-of-year event features live music by Penelope, refreshments, a cash bar, basket raffle and a door prize.

The event is free to museum members, Niagara University faculty, staff and students. Admission is $10 for the general public.

The Castellani Art Museum will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 21, through Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in conjunction with Niagara University's holiday recess. It will reopen Thursday, Jan. 2.
