New York State Assemblywoman Jane Corwin is sponsoring her fourth annual winter coat and clothing drive. Her office and locations throughout her Assembly district will accept gently used and cleaned coats, hats, gloves, boots and other winter wear now through Thursday, Dec. 12.

"Last year was the first time that we have ever collected clothing at satellite locations and, while we were unsure of what to expect in terms of quantity, to our great surprise and pleasure, we ended up with more coats and clothes than every other year we've been running the drive combined," Corwin said. "We received so many donations; we were actually unprepared in terms of how much clothing we anticipated receiving and where we were going to put all of the donations. The community of Western New York donated, in less than a month, over 1,000 coats, jackets, hats gloves and other winter wear items that could provide warmth to over a few hundred families. It will be hard to top last year, but we are hoping to keep building and growing this great month-long charity event for years to come."

All of the clothing collected will stay in the community and will be donated to local charities and organizations that assist local Western New York families.

Those interested in donating any gently used clothing can feel free to stop by Corwin's district office, located at 8180 Main St., Clarence, during normal office hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (weekdays). Contact her at 716-839-4690 for other drop-off locations. (Also listed below)
