Students at Fort Niagara learn about history

More than 700 area students came to Old Fort Niagara Nov. 1 to participate in French Heritage Day. The students learned about life at the fort during the French period from re-enactors portraying the people from all nations who would have been in the area at this time. The hands-on activities kept the day interesting as the students learned about some of the Niagara Frontier's early history and participated in soldier drills. (photo by Wayne Peters)
