Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has appointed Christin M. LoFaso director of IPA/navigation. In that role, she will lead Niagara County efforts in support of NY State of Health, the organized marketplace designed to help people shop for and enroll in health insurance coverage.

LoFaso holds a master's degree in public health from Walden University and bachelor's degrees in biology and psychology from Canisius College. She previously served as an employer clinical consultant, account management associate and pharmacy benefits specialist at HealthNow New York.

In her new role, LoFaso will oversee 10 service sites across Niagara County at which trained assistor/navigators will assist consumers seeking to select and purchase health care coverage through the state's health insurance exchange. Qualified health plans were made available to individuals, families and small businesses Oct. 1 and will be effective Jan. 1, 2014. Visit NY State of Health at nystateofhealth.ny.gov.
