Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-C-I-Lewiston, was recently named to the New York Farm Bureau's "Circle of Friends." This award is given to legislators who demonstrate a commitment to strengthening family farms through advocacy and a strong voting record on issues that impact family farms. Ceretto has won this award every year he has been in the Assembly, making this his third consecutive year as a Friend of Family Farms.

"I am honored that the New York Farm Bureau has named me a 'Friend of Family Farms.' Farming is a top industry in New York and in my district. New York should be pursuing policies that help family farms expand and create jobs. I will continue to support family farms in my district and throughout New York state," Ceretto said.

Ceretto's record on supporting family farms includes helping pass the 2 percent agricultural assessment cap, which will help reduce costs for family farms and create jobs. He also favors reducing the regulatory burden on family farms, measures that lower the cost of transportation, and initiatives to promote locally grown New York farm products. In Niagara County, Ceretto sponsored and passed legislation to expand the Niagara Wine Trails, which promotes locally grown wine to tourists in the area.
