The annual Niagara County Walk to End Alzheimer's, which supports the local Alzheimer's Association Chapter, is set for Saturday, Sept. 28, at Artpark in Lewiston.

Across Western New York, more than 160,000 people are dealing with the devastation of Alzheimer's. It's estimated that 53,000 local people have the always-fatal disease, and it's believed that another 107,000 people provide some kind of care for those with the disease. The Alzheimer's Association, WNY Chapter, provides classes, outreach, respite and support across eight counties, including Niagara. Additionally, a phone support system staffed by trained professionals is available 24/7.

Walk registration is online 24/7 at www.alz.org/wny. Information is also available by calling 1-800-272-3900.
