NCCC Foundation announces board of directors

The Niagara County Community College Foundation Inc. has elected its 2013-14 board of directors.

Kurt Schuler, controller of Niagara Sheets in North Tonawanda, was named chairman of the NCCC Foundation board. Schuler, a 1978 NCCC graduate, joined the board in 2008. He has served as past board vice chairman and past chair of the finance committee.

Jerald I. Wolfgang has been elected as the vice chairman. Wolfgang, director of the WNY Regional Education Center for Economic Development, has been on the board since 1993.

Other officers elected include Treasurer David I. Karwick, senior vice president at Key Investment Services, and Secretary F. Robert Sdao, NCCC board of trustee emeritus. Members-at-large are William Bevacqua, retired, Sdao Furniture; David DiCamillo of DiCamillo Baking Co. Inc.; and Gina I. Virtuoso, NCCC board of trustees appointee.

The board has elected Michael J. Hooper, owner of Hooper Realty, as new director. The following directors have been re-elected to a three-year term: Ron Winkley, past chairman; David Bonnevie, Dental Care Associates LLC; Ann Briody Petock, Briody Health Care Facility; Vincent (Jimmy) Cancemi, Cancemi Furniture; Jack Kopczynski, Ascension Industries Inc.; James A. Mezhir of NCCC; Lester Robinson III, Northwoods Corp.; and Gary Siddall, Delphi.

The NCCC Foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to deserving students since its inception in 1987.
