William P. Ackendorf died Aug. 4, 2013, in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital at age 89.
Born March 28, 1924, in Buffalo, he was the son of William and Margaret (née Maderer) Ackendorf. He retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. (National Grid) after 42 years of service. He was a long-standing member of the Rotary Club and was very active in the Lutheran Church. He was also a former member of the Board of Directors of Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
Survivors include three sons: William F., Paul M. and John M. He is also survived by one sister, Ruth H. Grundon.
Services were held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church on Aug. 8.
