Daniel J. McNamee Jr. passed away in Florida March 15 after a short illness.
Daniel was born and raised on Grand Island. He attended school at Charlotte Sidway School before joining the Navy. Daniel was known as a young boat racer and built his first racing boat at the age of 15. He was a skydiver and was a pilot instructor. He was a captain of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a longtime member of the Grand Island Moose Lodge.
He is survived by a sister Marcy Buell, brothers Ronald (Patricia) McNamee, Robert (Denise) McNamee and Joseph McNamee; four children, Daniel McNamee III, Kristy (Aaron) Wood, Michael McNamee and Jennifer McNamee; his loving companion Doris Springman, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Friday, July 5, from noon to 1 p.m. with a prayer service Friday at 12:50 p.m. at the Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Road.
