As part of its grand re-opening celebration, Grand Island Tops donated $500 to each of five Island organizations at the store's ribbon-cutting for its recent $1.4 million remodeling.

Patty Bianco, store manager of GI Tops, presented checks to Phyllis Didion, recreation leader, and Linda Tufillaro parks and recreation director, representing Reality Café; Gary Roesch representing the Grand Island Fire Co.; Dick Crawford representing the One Island coalition and the GI Lions Club; and Ann and Denny Dahl, representing the Grand Island Neighbors Foundation.

Tufillaro presented Bianco with a plaque recognizing Bianco's community involvement that she hoped would be the "first decoration in the newly remodeled Grand Island Tops." (photos by Larry Austin)
