Niagara-Wheatfield High School held a safety day on April 25, showcasing careers in law enforcement, military branches and first responder fields. Along with local military recruiters, those participating included Niagara County Sheriff's SWAT, helicopter and K-9 units, Sanborn Volunteer Fire Department, Niagara County Sheriff's Air Patrol, Niagara Falls Civil Air Patrol, Twin City and Tri-Community ambulances, and criminal justice and first responder course professors from Niagara County Community College, Erie Community College and Hilbert College.
Shown, Deputy Craig Beiter and Taz met with students and also demonstrated what happens when a K-9 goes after a criminal on the run.
