The Grand Island Board of Education will announce its selection of a new superintendent of schools during Monday's joint meeting with the Grand Island Town Board.

The Board of Education and the Town Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Grand Island Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road.

The Board of Education has identified its two finalists for the position: Teresa Lawrence, director of curriculum and staff development for Clarence; and Susan Frey, assistant superintendent in the Depew School District. The new superintendent should be seated by July 1.

Paul Hashem has served as interim superintendent since January after Robert Christmann retired and left to take a position as executive director of the Western New York Education Council.
