On April 1, the Grand Island Economic Development Advisory Board launched its awareness campaign in a big way.

Next time you travel the I-290, look up. You will see Grand Island in lights on the billboard near Colvin Boulevard. Tom Knight, the advisory board co-chairman said, "We want everyone to know we are business-friendly, and we want the residents of the community to understand we are focused on controlled growth in our designated business zones."

Jeff Halpin the other co-chairman noted, "Adding new businesses not only provides our residents with additional products, services and jobs but also provides tax dollars to the community." The billboard campaign will run through April on the I-290 then moves to 33 going into Buffalo in May. The tag line for the campaign is "Surrounded by possibilities," announcing to all that Grand Island is an important location and a wonderful place to do business. The Grand Island Economic Development Advisory Board is working to make our community a great location for businesses and residents alike, said Halpin.
