Kelly Stephens of Wheatfield, center, organized a successful fundraiser Sunday at St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz to benefit Akron Canine Rescued Angels. Stephens said her own dog, Rocco, a Rottweiler mix, was a rescue by the group from an Ohio high-kill shelter, and she wanted to help out. Her main assistants were her mom, Cathy Burke, left, and her friend Amanda Michael, right, who owns a rescue mixed breed from the group named Scrappy.
