The Holiday Inn Grand Island and Niagara Frontier Publications have pledged support for the annual Citizen of the Year award banquet with platinum sponsorships.

The Grand Island Citizen of the Year Awards Committee is planning the event for April 25 at the Holiday Inn Grand Island. This annual awards dinner recognizes individuals and businesses that have given greatly to the community and made it a better place to live, work and play.

The Chamber of Commerce is very excited to be holding this event at the Holiday Inn, which is now under new management.

"The committee has had a chance to taste of some of the wonderful food prepared by Sam Redi, the newly hired chef at the Holiday Inn, and it was terrific," commented Liz Wilbert, committee chairperson.

Nominations for the Citizen of the Year award are being accepted until March 8. Nomination forms can be found on the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce website, www.gichamber.org, or picked up at the chamber office, 2257 Grand Island Blvd.
