In celebration of the holidays, leather- and denim-clad members of Niagara Falls Harley Owners Group recently made their annual convoy to New Directions' Wyndham Lawn Home for Children in Lockport to give the children residents' holiday presents.
For more than 20 years, area bikers involved with H.O.G. have designated an early December evening to visit with the children of Wyndham Lawn Home and give them holiday gifts off their wish list.
This year, H.O.G. brought the children Wii gaming systems, video games, Wii Fit Boards, televisions and extra wireless Wii remotes. Wii's were selected by both the children and H.O.G. because of the various health benefits gained by using the motion required gaming system. Many of the games that were given were selected by H.O.G. based on their fitness benefits for children.
The gifts to the children are provided through monies raised during the annual Niagara Falls H.O.G.'s "Blessing of the Bikes" event held each spring.
Harley-Davidson established the Harley Owners Group in 1983 in response to a growing desire by Harley riders for an organized way to share their passion and show their pride. Today, there are more than 1 million members making H.O.G. the largest factory-sponsored motorcycle organization in the world, including the Niagara Falls H.O.G.
