Wayne Pollow and State Sen. George Maziarz won their respective primary races this past week. Pollow is running for Porter town justice, while Maziarz seeks to be re-elected for a fifth term in November.
Maziarz netted 5,109 votes (66 percent) in his defeat of Johnny Destino (2,601 votes). He will square off with Democrat Party candidate Amy Hope Witryol.
Pollow secured the Republican, Independence, Conservative and Green Party lines. His opponent, Patrick Stack, won the Democrat Party line.
