Rallies support for state-funded capital projects

Assemblyman John D. Ceretto announced Friday his support for the $67 million bond for the Niagara Falls School District. Residents of Niagara Falls will have the opportunity to vote on the bond Sept. 25.

"Since entering office just 19 months ago, I have made bringing state dollars back to Niagara County a priority," Ceretto said. "We've seen some successes: the Power Proceeds Bill, the Regional Economic Development Councils, and Recharge NY, just to name a few. All of these projects were fought for and won. Here we have a situation where we control our own destiny. We must work to secure the trusted votes of Niagara Falls residents."

Ceretto wrote to members of the Niagara Falls School Board to encourage a team effort aimed at winning support for this 100 percent state-funded bond. Ceretto cited the significant upgrades to building safety, the integration of new technology and the introduction of new educational tools that will positively impact students, teachers and support staff as reasons to support the bond.

"These capital projects will create much-needed jobs for our local workforce, as well as improve the quality of our schools," Ceretto said. "I honestly can't think of a better proposal than this - a project built by local workers, for our local children and local teachers. It is a true investment in our community."
