'Clothesline Show of Historic Photos of Lewiston: Series 3': new edition and new pictures

As part of the Country Fair and Community Yard Sale, held by the Village of Lewiston Recreation Department on Sept. 15, there will be a new clothesline show of historic pictures of Lewiston. It's titled, "Clothesline Show of Historic Photos of Lewiston: Series 3."

The first two series were shown in 2010 and 2011. In 2011 at the Country Fair and at the Spring Fling, the Recreation Department displayed more than 100 pictures of Lewiston to the delight of residents and visitors and hope to have as many this year. The Recreation Department is coordinating this project with the Historical Association of Lewiston.

At this time, the Recreation Department is looking for residents to share their historic photos. Pictures of buildings in Lewiston as well as old group photos of sports and school groups are sought. Original photos will be enlarged and displayed at the Country Fair.

If you have some photos and are willing to let them be copied, call 716-754-1990 and leave a message. Participants do not have to leave the photos, the Recreation Department staff will arrange a time and copy them while you wait.
