Member magazine highlights summer attractions and close-to-home destinations

AAA Western and Central New York has revealed the latest issue of Member Connection magazine, featuring Niagara Falls on the cover. Since its inception in February 2011, the magazine has supported the organization's goal of promoting local and regional tourism in New York state. Published four times per year, Member Connection showcases what makes living and traveling in the Empire State so special.

The summer issue, arriving in AAA members' mailboxes this week, features Niagara Falls on the cover. In the story, the magazine highlights the activities available to Niagara Falls visitors: the Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, the Cave of the Winds, the iconic Maid of the Mist, Niagara Falls State Park and more.

This issue also includes stories on many other summer hot-spots throughout New York, including "Six Road Trips We Love," where AAA associates detail their favorite spots to spend a summer day in New York state. Other featured destinations include:

  • Rochester: Readers can get a glimpse into Rochester's Seneca Park Zoo and its new Step Into Africa exhibit, which opened just last month;

  • Finger Lakes area: A story about Canandaigua's Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park; where AAA members save $1 on admission; and

  • Syracuse: A glimpse at the historical significance of the Everson Museum of Art.

"Like much of New York state, Member Connection truly offers something for everyone to enjoy," said Mark Hogan, vice president of marketing for AAA Western and Central New York. "Highlighting the best and most beautiful places in our own backyard is another step toward putting our region on the map as a tourist destination."

Produced and published by AAA Western and Central New York, Member Connection is delivered to 575,000 AAA member households and has a readership of more than 1 million, making it the largest circulated publication in the region. The magazine is a benefit for members; however Member Connection is available to non-members at all AAA Travel and Insurance Centers.

As Upstate New York's largest member services organization, AAA provides nearly 860,000 members with travel, insurance, financial and automotive related services. Since its founding in 1900, AAA has been a leading advocate for the safety and security of all travelers.
