New pastor serving at Faith Community

The church family of Faith Community Church of the Nazarene, located at 3520 Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn, has a new pastor: the Rev. Wayne Hokanson.

He and his family moved here from Baltimore at the end of February. His wife, Tammy Walton Hokanson, was raised in Town of Niagara, so this is a homecoming as well as a new home for her.

Hospitality and Bible-based teaching are strengths the Hokansons bring to their new congregation.

Hokanson graduated in 2005 from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Co., where he majored in pastoral ministry. He was ordained in 2008 and in 2010 he finished up work on a MA in Leadership from Mid-America Christian University located in Oklahoma City.

He and his wife have three children: Eric, age 21; Daniel, age 17; and Allison, age 16. They enjoy spending time together on the water and the pastor enjoys both fishing and hunting.

All are welcome to church services Sundays at 11 a.m. and to Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.
