Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, the largest provider of women's health services in Niagara County, held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting today to celebrate the completion of a half-million dollars in building renovations and technology and women's services upgrades at the Summit Healthplex.
The renovations and upgrades include a new digital mammography suite, new changing rooms that provide increased comfort and privacy to women receiving mammograms, new ultrasound imaging equipment, a redesigned outpatient registration area, and renovated and redecorated laboratory services and diagnostic imaging areas.
The new mammography suite features a state-of-the-art, full field digital system with a computer-aided detection program, a dedicated workstation for image display and interpretation, and a digital picture archiving and communication system.
The renovations to the patient registration, laboratory services and diagnostic imaging areas will provide patients with improved comfort and convenience as well as enhancing patient privacy.
Located at 6934 Williams Road in Wheatfield, just east of the Niagara Falls city line, the Summit Healthplex is Memorial's largest and busiest outpatient service center. The facility offers primary care, sports medicine and physical and occupational therapy services in addition to laboratory services, echocardiography, X-ray, nuclear radiology, ultrasound, CT scanning and MRI testing. It also houses a number of specialty physician offices.
Laboratory services are available weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Diagnostic imaging services, including walk-in digital mammograms, are available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
