The recent warmer temperatures have gotten many, including the Lewiston Garden Club, thinking about their gardens and other landscaping projects. The Lewiston Garden Club, which sponsors the Lewiston GardenFest, is now accepting vendor applications for its seventh annual event on Saturday, June 23, and Sunday, June 24, along Center Street in Lewiston. Businesses and vendors who sell items related to gardening, horticulture and the outdoors, including nurseries, landscapers, garden artists, builders and others, which enhance beauty in the garden, are encouraged to apply.

"Lewiston GardenFest brings both gardeners of varying skill levels and visitors alike from all over Western New York and Southern Ontario to our historic village to learn how to beautify their outdoor space," said Sharon Low, vendor chair and president of the Lewiston Garden Club. "We welcome any and all vendors who sell garden or outdoor-related items to apply for this summer's event."

Vendors who are interested in participating are asked to contact Low at 716-297-5925, [email protected] or Barbara Landree at 716-754-7048, [email protected] by May 1 for an application. The application fee varies from $125 to $225, based on the size of the vendor display.

In addition to shopping opportunities, GardenFest features speakers, master gardeners and representatives from floral societies to answer questions. A Garden Walk, featuring the gardens of local Lewiston residents, is also part of the weekend's festivities. All proceeds from the event are given back to the local community for civic beautification and scholarships.
