The Junior League of Buffalo has announced the 2011-12 community assistance small grants program's request for proposals. Qualified not-for-profit agencies throughout Western New York are encouraged to apply for grant funding up to $1,000. Past recipients will be considered for award monies once in a two-year period.

The Junior League of Buffalo applauds organizations and programs that support its current focus area, families at risk, with special emphasis on female heads of households. The community assistance small grants committee earmarked two out of the seven community assistance small grant awards toward non-profit organizations that directly engage and support the Junior League of Buffalo's community impact focus area.

Those interested can visit http://www.jlbuffalo.org/community/grant-info and download the application package, which contains guidelines and required forms. If you are unable to access the Internet, call the Junior League of Buffalo's headquarters at 716-884-8865 to request the package.

All potential applicants must submit applications postmarked by Feb. 3. Questions regarding application requirements should be addressed to Hadar Borden at 716-884-8865 or[email protected].

The Junior League of Buffalo is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
