Mount St. Mary's to offer free cholesterol blood screening

St. Francis Guild and board of associates are sponsors

As part of Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center's wellness initiative and enhanced cardiac and diagnostic laboratory services, the hospital is offering a free "Community Lipid Panel Screening" on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 10:30 a.m. in the north lobby of the hospital, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston.

The tests will be conducted by the hospital, with the assistance of sponsorship by the Mount St. Mary's Hospital board of associates and the St. Francis Guild.

The tests will cover cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL. The results will be mailed directly to the home of individual tested.

This is the seventh year Mount St. Mary's Hospital has conducted its free screening. More than 400 people are expected to take part.

There will be several stations for testing and no reservations will be taken. Those planning to take the test are reminded that this is a fasting test. Individuals should not eat upon arising and prior to this test.
