Award-winning author and Lewiston resident Norah Perez will discuss the story behind her new book, "River Burning," as part of a program put on by the Historical Association of Lewiston. The event is slated for Monday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Barton Hill Hotel & Spa, 100 Center St.

The historical fiction novel, geared for young adults, focuses on the British invasion of Fort Niagara and Lewiston in 1813. Don't let the young adult category fool you; the book is to be enjoyed by any age.

Listen to Perez talk about the inspiration behind the story as well as how the novel - written 10 years ago - came to be released just this past year.

Admission is free and complimentary refreshments will be served. For more information, call 754-4214.
