The Counseling and Career Center at Niagara-Wheatfield High School recently hosted an Alumni Day at the school's auditorium. Several 2011 graduates returned to share their first semester freshmen college experiences with more than 300 students. Alumni Kelly Gravel, Manmehar Kaur, Jesse Tiebor, Grace Gersass, Fran Ognibene, Scott Paige, Steve Richard, Adam Donner, Meghan Gonyea, Erick Zawislak, Amanda Brier and Mariska Raglow-DiFranco talked about the transition from high school to college, academics, dorm life and navigating through bureaucracy of higher education.
The goal of the presentations is to have current high school students hear from their peers the importance of working hard in high school, how that pays off in college and what to expect when they reach college.
