Ransomville Lighting of the Wreaths coming up

Organizers of the annual Ransomville Lighting of the Wreaths announce this year's celebrations will take place Sunday, Nov. 27, with events taking place throughout the hamlet.

Area residents are invited to partake in a host of holiday activities, including:

•Breakfast with the Ransomville Lions, from 7 a.m. to noon at the American Legion.

•Santa visits with children from 1 to 3 p.m.

•In the Ransomville Historic Room, located behind the Ransomville Library, events include crafts and cookie decorating, holiday entertainment and Santa's mailbox.

•Events in the community include horse and buggy rides and entertainment. Also chowder sales and popcorn at the Masonic Temple, used clothing collections at the Ransomville Methodist Church, and sweets available at the Fillmore Chapel.

•The grand finale of the day occurs at 3:45 p.m. with the lighting of the wreath in the Historic Room by long-time resident Larry Grimm.
