Underage alcohol detail nets three arrests

The Niagara County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police and New York State Liquor Authority conducted a joint underage alcohol enforcement detail throughout Niagara County from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.

In the detail, deputies, state troopers and State Liquor Authority agents, utilizing underage operatives, checked 16 convenience stores. Thirteen stores successfully denied the underage operatives  to purchase alcohol and three allowed alcohol purchases.

Those arrested during this detail were Tracey M. Lewis, 17, of Lockport, an employee of Kenyon's on Campbell Boulevard, Pendleton; Victoria M. Miller, 19, of East Amherst, an employee of Olear's on Chestnut Ridge Road, Royalton; and Matthew T. Ward, 22, of Wilson, an employee of Mrs. Thank You, Marywood Drive in Lewiston.

All three were charged with unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree, and prohibited sales, which are both misdemeanors.

Lewis is due in Town of Pendleton Court on Nov. 9, while Miller is due in Town of Royalton Court on Nov. 10 and Ward is due in Town of Lewiston Court on Nov. 8.
