The Wheatfield Farmers Market is sponsoring a Customer-Family Appreciation Day on Wednesday, Oct. 26, which is the last day of operations for the market's second season.

The market provides a source for local fresh produce, specialty food items and crafts. For its closing day, it also will provide free hot dogs to all customers, courtesy of the Hot Dog King. The YMCA will provide a bounce house, face painting and a fall-themed crafts table for children.

Hours are 3 to 7 p.m. in the Town Hall parking lot.

The market's goal has been to promote the products of both the local farming community and businesses, and to provide a gathering place for Wheatfield residents.

Regular vendors have included: Prudom Farms (produce), Tina's Cheese, Chateau Buffalo Wine, Specialty Pies By Shirlene, the Hot Dog King, The Wheatfield Seniors (crafts), Hanzlian's Homemade Sausage, Librock Farms (natural Angus beef), The Kernel (homegrown popcorn), Hens Honey Bee Farms (honey and Blackman Farm products), Gino's Italian Bakery (specialty breads, pastries, desserts), Keeping Traditions (homemade pierogis) and DDMJ Farms. Seasonal and product availability vendors have included: Linda Gamache of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Wilma Zuch Family Farm, Incatin Crafts, Shirley's Country Garden Crafts, Parker's Patch, New Day Coffee Roasters, Bonards/Applewood Hollow (flavored cocoa), Coasters Ice Cream (Crystal Beach items) and Frances Trimpert (homemade fruit pies and embroidery items).
