After what he called "eight enjoyable years," Lewiston restaurateur Jim Lewis is moving on. He is finalizing a deal to sell his business, The Steelhead, to Alfonse Muto, president of Pine Pharmacy.

"We had a ball here," Lewis said, noting he's happy with his decision. "The right guy's buying it."

Muto stressed he is not running the restaurant, but will instead rent it to a tenant. He expects to complete the purchase in a few weeks, and then close the restaurant for renovations. The new eatery is expected to open with a new look and new menu in the spring of 2012.

"I think it will be good for Lewiston," Muto said.

The Steelhead is an Irish pub known for its popular dinner offerings, as well as a large bar and a prominent outside patio. It's a popular hangout for Lewiston GOPs.
