Sisters of St. Francis Chapter elects officers

The Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity recently announced leadership election results of the 21st Provincial Chapter of the Sisters of St. Francis Holy Name Province, Stella Niagara.

Sister Edith Wyss was elected provincial minister and Sister Diane Gianadda was elected as first councilor. Sisters Mary Serbacki and Nancy Zelma were elected provincial councilors. The leadership team (pictured above) was elected for a four-year term beginning Aug. 21.

The sponsored institutions of the Sisters of St. Francis, Stella Niagara, are the Center of Renewal Retreat and Conference Center; Stella Niagara Education Park; Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart; and Francis Center, Niagara Falls. The sisters continue ministries to the underserved in Ohio, New Jersey, Florida, New Mexico, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Mexico, Indonesia and Tanzania, as well as serving the infirm and elderly sisters of Holy Name Province.

The Sisters of St. Francis have served in the U.S. since 1874 with a deep dedication - as teachers, social workers, health care providers, and spiritual leaders.
